I just wanted to document for myself, and other new buyers the current lead times in the process.
I ordered on 16th March at dealers.
22/03/19 - 1 week later - Dealer emailed me with order number
23/03/19 - 1 day later my order appeared on the 'My VW' app - "With The Factory"
I am aware there were long delays in the past from last year's WLTP issues. What are people's experiences with more recent order timelines, i.e. this side of the new year?
How long to go from 'With The Factory' to build week confirmed? Appreciate some of you have this info in your signature but others don't. Would be good to get an idea of the current lead times of 'new orders' post the WLTP 'crisis'.
Just had an update too, stage 5a left factory . Car was ordered 16/7 but already had build week 33 confirmed, so it's looking like a fast turnover here. Fingers crossed. By the way that's for a Tiguan SEL 2.0 tsi 4motion in Indium grey.
Lol reg dates means nothing. Never understood people who go on about the reg dates. If cars manufacturered 2019 it's a 2019 car regardless of 19 or 69 plate
No because a car goes on year of build not if it's got the early reg plate or later one. Proce paid can vary on so many different reasons. For instance when I purchased my allspace was one proce but now checking prices has changed some. I suppose people feel a bit cheated if order a car. Think you will have the later reg so think itll be worth less. But ultimately a car built 2019 would still be a 2019 model. I understand why people want the most latest. But honestly means nothing really. V5 will still say 2019 registered
Mine was already on order by the dealer as a stock car in the colour we preferred , so we struck lucky. Hope the rest of the process goes as smooth. I'm not bothered by 69 or 19 plate ,just want as soon as . Looking at others experience's I reckon early sept but would be buzzin if it gets here any sooner.
I have only the match model allspace and love it. Excellent car. Highly recommended. I test drove an rline. Whichever and whatever model. Yourll love it
Got a 5b this morning after getting 5a on Friday. On the 5b it says shipped . So getting hopeful it was on the boat that arrived in Grimsby last night, if not it should be on the next one which should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday .
You can always ask the dealer not to register it until after September 1st as it will affect its resale value. But on the other hand, you may find your dealer wants to ship it to you in August so he meets his sales targets... in my case I was offered an extra £350 for my old car if I agreed to take delivery in late February rather than wait until March (when buying a car with a list price of £29,245 which I had already haggled down to £26,500.)
I just had my text today to inform me ot is now at stage 5c, I phoned the dealer to try and get some dates and he said 5c means it's on the water on it's way over, as its bank holiday and stuff, he thinks I should get it for the 2nd week of September? So maybe anytime from 9th September hopefully.

Got my 5c this morning at 8ish this morning it's near the uk , an hour later the boat docked from Emden. So fully expecting to get stage 6 tomorrow or Sunday. Last time I spoke to the Dealer the estimate was 1 September ,give or take 5 days . Hoping to be driving it by next weekend.

Right on time I received my stage 5a this morning so now its on its journey from Mexico to Bolton.
The website does say 'On average it takes 4 weeks from build for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer'
With it coming from Mexico I cant see this being true, its first got to go from Mexico to Emden and then back on a boat to the UK.
From peoples experience of the Allspace how long does it take from Mexico to Germany?
Just got the 7(arrived at dealer.) Already got reg number. Looking like early next week 2nd or 3rd ,then it's time to party lol.
Build week 33 it was built, so has took 18 days to be built and delivered to dealers.
P.S. in answer to the post above ,from what I've learnt reading these threads its usually ,once it sets sail about 3 weeks to Emden(germany) then a few days shipping to England .

Got my stage 7 yesterday so pick mine up next Thursday, mine must have been on the same boat. Going to see it Monday as I have to sign the papers first and drop off my reg plate details.
Picking mine up Wednesday ,but don't get a preview . That's unless I sneak up for ganders .
