Re: Fog Light Illumination On Cornering

I'm presuming it's fog light cornering with halogen headlights. The cornering light is in the LED headlight assembly and I find it very useful when maneuvering in poorly lit areas. I do think approaching vehicles from a junction look odd with one fog light slowly dimming.

Re: Newbie... questions and opinion sought

Looks like a few have beaten me to a response. I'd never driven an automatic (at all) in my 50 years of driving! I traded in my Passat 170 deisel two years ago for a 6 month old demonstrator Tiguan 190 DSG 4motion R-Line deisel. The DSG makes it a dream to drive and should you ever wish to go manual...

Re: Wipers

2.5 years on and front wipers are original and work perfectly. Had to get a new rear wiper blade (Bosch) after someone helped themselves to mine and left me with a busted clip blade in its place! Unbelievable when the replacement was less than £8 with free delivery on interweb! One tiny niggle I hav...

Re: Spotted Today

Too busy, all that red, wind reflectors, tints and those running boards besides not being VW have no rubber anti-slip inlays and are set too low. Definately not for me!

Re: Mud flaps

Although I can understand the virtues of protecting the lower bodywork by using mud flaps (my previous Passats had them) I've never been over fond of the profile they create. My current R-Line Tiguan (ex demonstrator) came with running boards and these definately keep the road 'mess' to a minimum - ...

Re: Humming Noise (passanger side)

With such low mileage on the clock the tyres should be in good shape, but on both my previous Passats the camber was out of tolerance and this caused 'feathering' of the inner most tread and thus a humming noise. This humming started at around 20-25 mph and was constant until wind/road noise became ...

Re: Interior Lights On Question

A timeout on interior lights has been a VW 'battery safeguard' for quite a few years. As you say closing boot lid / door resets the timeout. Wonder if with the boot lid open the key fob is pressed to lock then unlock might reactivate the boot light?? I have just purchased a 42mm 6500k LED festoon re...

Re: What is this on AID?

It's all pretty clever stuff. On our regular 'commutes' to France, while in Eurotunnel, I set 'driving on right' along with units to kilometers and time to GMT +1. This adjusts the LED headlights (passenger side lowered) and we join the A16 heading West. For the first few kilometers overtaking HGVs ...
