Re: Water marks on ceiling

20200709_174607.jpg To answer your question wrt "whether I have cleared the blocked drain tubes with wire and hot water flush"... I am reasonably confident that the drain tubes are now coping with water flow. Since doing the work we have had some serious prolonged periods of rain and I have not see...

Re: Keep me sane!

If you are like me the tech on the car will keep on giving and you will really enjoy driving it. I bought a 6 month old (with 6K on clock) 67 plate 190 'R-line'. With lock down I have only done 31K to date, so one set of tyres replaced at 29K and a sunroof leak a couple of weeks ago. Cleaned drain t...

Re: Water marks on ceiling

With all the torrential downpours in recent days I had rainwater on both front footwell rubber mats the carpet under the passenger mat was wet and runs visible down the plastic trim (both sides). I contacted my VW dealer as the car is not yet 3 years old as a warranty issue. Dealer advised requiring...

Re: Tyre tread

Prior to 'lockdown' and back in Nov 19 I replaced all 4 Continentals at 29.5K (with more Continentals, but not seal type - big difference in price). Summer 2018 I switched front to rear (on same side) at 18K. All four tyres had almost 2mm tread at point of replacement. Tiguan is 190 DSG and the car ...

Re: Extended warranty

Earlier last year I asked the implications of delaying the next due service as although it was due in another 1K miles I was driving to France and back which would add an additional 2K. The VW dealer stated that so long as the oil level was okay and no warning lights it was acceptable to go up to 3K...

Re: Unused car during lockdown

I took the attached picture to (remotely) describe how to charge the battery on her car. The larger circle shows the 'logic' to the ECU attached to the negative post of the battery and the smaller circle shows the intended place to connect the negative battery charger clip. HTH Sorry wrong picture (...

Re: Front assist on motorways

Set Drive to Eco and ACC to Sport as suggested earlier. I also have front assist set to very close and the effect is now acceptable for motorway driving (no lag when pulling out to overtake a slower vehicle in slower lane). As expected when restarting the engine Eco has to be reselected each time, a...

And if you're brave enough to venture inside the Parisian Périphérique you'll need the citiair certificate displayed on the windscreen.

Re: Fog Light Illumination On Cornering

I'm presuming it's fog light cornering with halogen headlights. The cornering light is in the LED headlight assembly and I find it very useful when maneuvering in poorly lit areas. I do think approaching vehicles from a junction look odd with one fog light slowly dimming.
