Re: Question about Golf R lowering springs

You might be confusing spring rate with axle load rating here. The spring rate will obviously be different on a lowering spring.

Re: Don't run out of washer fluid...

Issue will be if the level of screenwash is right on the limit, as has already been mentioned. The system won't be sophisticated enough to know if it's already triggered or not - rightly or wrongly. So the advice stands, use some more screenwash until the warning is permanent or top up with either a...

Re: Mats/liners

Those photos are from a BMW, so hoping they're not generic mats!

But the short answer from me is no, I went for a custom fit boot liner, the standard mats the Tig came with for summer and a set of genuine VW rubbber mats that I'll fit come the autumn and run those through until Spring.

Re: Question about Golf R lowering springs

Check the supported axle loading rates of these springs, against what is required for your Tig model. I'd be surprised if they were rated the same, given you'd be trying to use springs for a hatchback on an SUV/Crossover. Axle loading rates for your car can be found on the driver's door jam sticker.

No idea about Apple kit, but I do know quite a bit about beta testing! Any potential to try it with a stable iOS build, or another phone in the household? Just to rule out the car being the issue.

Re: New Car and Keyless Entry

Interesting testing, especially that it doesn't appear to do a full locking process if the mirrors don't fold and the deadlock isn't engaged.

Re: 1.5 TSi EVO 150 SE

I'd go and try it, so you can compare directly with yours at the moment.

Agree on the old stock though, I hope they're making it worthwhile for you! Didn't even know you could get the 'Evo' engine in SE spec...

Yep, I wouldn't do anything more than that. Keys stored elsewhere is a good shout as you've said, if that's not too inconvenient!

Re: Snow Foam Amateur

Each snow foam tends to have a different dilution ratio, so go with the manufacturer's recommendation and see how you get on. Sometimes these will be quite generous, to get you to use more product! Key is not necessarily how much foam is produced, but how effectively the solution is clinging to the ...

Re: New Car and Keyless Entry

You obviously need to be aware of leaving passengers in the car, if you have the "Locking for door slamming active" setting enabled. Common sense should prevail here. If you know you'll be leaving people in the car for any reason, leave the key inside the car.... If you forsee an issue with doing th...
