Re: Painting brakes

Bringing this post back to life as I've noticed surface rust on my hubs (not the braking surface). Car is 16 months old with 4600 miles but prob not relative. Might as well paint the calipers at the same time and thinking red, with silver for the hubs. Any suggestions for the heat resistant paint to...

Re: Screw in my tyre...

All you need to know about the self sealing tyres is in this thread: https://www.tiguanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6025 As mentioned the sealing product is only a temporary fix. It isn’t designed to be the permanent repair as it breaks down over time. The puncture will need fixing to the appro...

Re: Screw in my tyre...

Thanks, I hadn't realised it was just a get you home job. Continental say for mine to have it inspected. Whilst I'm no tyre expert, I did have the wheel off and inspected it (even marked it up with chalk so i could monitor overnight) and I know it was in between the treads in an areas normally consi...

Re: Screw in my tyre...

Update, Kwik Fit did it for free, no need for a new tyre. Every credit to the guy. Said they couldn't justify the charge for the time it took them to fix it. Gonna leave them a 5 star review on Google! That sounds great service. I hope they did a proper repair and didn't just push some of the self ...

Re: Steering wheel lock for Tiguans

I have a Stoplock Pro on my Tiguan and a Stoplock Pro Elite on my Abarth 595c Competizione. Just gives that extra peace of mind.

I also disable keyless every time I park up, just habit now.

Re: 2021 Tiguan R...test

Don't like the steering wheel, or the seat trim. Rest is good though and liking the exhaust notes.

Prob not worth the extra £££ over my 230 and when allowed I may get mine remapped so power wouldn't be a million miles apart.

Re: Reverse Jumping

Yes it was bizarre you mentioned that! Something they can’t fix and need to replace the lot apparently! Should I be more concerned that a gear box has gone wrong on a car that’s done less than 15k miles? Mechatronics unit can be replaced separately by a specialist, but as you're not paying, who car...

Re: Reverse Jumping

Just got back from the VW garage in Liverpool, they’ve said it’s a mechatronics problem and are going to replace the whole DSG gearbox. They need the car for a week and have ordered the parts today, haven’t a clue how much that would cost a normal customer luckily only had it for 2 weeks! Bizarre t...

Re: Wireless Android Auto

Shame the Tig doesn' have this as when i'm in my Abarth that does have the wireless, guess VW just didn't invest the time/money into Android wireless.
