Re: Auto Hold off when parking?

Yes Rory, I should have said “the Service Brake failed to engage”, not to be confused with the Electronic Parking Brake (Handbrake), which operates automatically for DSG models when the engine is stopped or the drivers door is opened. I prefer to leave the Auto Hold on under normal driving condition...

Re: Auto Hold off when parking?

I can understand why VW put Auto Hold on a switch so that it’s up to the user to either have it on or off, however on a couple of occasions I’ve switched it off when manoeuvring out of a tight spot with Park Assist I’ve forgotten to switch it back on, and at the next stop had a bit of a moment when ...

Re: Heated Mirrors

I also have the Area View cameras, but I still use the reverse dip on the passenger mirror and find it very handy.

Re: Auto Hold off when parking?

As I’ve said in the past, I have Park Assist, and quite often I will temporarily turn off Auto Hold and just use the foot brake to ‘creep’ which makes parking a lot easier. It would be nice if you could even turn Auto Hold off when Park Assist was in operation, but as CNC say’s unfortunately it’s ei...

Re: Heated Mirrors

Quite correct, the manual states that the heater in the door mirrors will only work at temps below 20℃. Also remember that if you’ve set the passenger mirror to dip when reverse is selected, then you will need to leave the selector knob on the ‘L’ setting (assuming the car is RHD) to work.

Re: Selling New SEL

Hi sparks, totally understand your reasoning for wanting to sell your Tiguan. Shame it’s feeling a little too large for you. When you finally sell it, why not have a look at the Tiguan’s smaller brother the T-Roc. You may find the smaller T-Roc would suit your needs better, and still give you the sa...

Re: Real MPG

Here's a slightly tangential question. Why is efficiency measured as mpg in imperial, yet when I fill the car at the pump, I buy it in litres/metric, not gallons? I could do the calculation in my head if I knew how many gallons I put in for each fill... And another, why do we go to the pub and buy ...
