Re: New owner possible leaky boot?

If you have a rear camera, that too has a water jet to clean the lens. Might be worth checking otherwise as you say, it means checking around lights and panel gaps. You could strip as much of the boot out as you can and then get in the car and get someone to spray the back of the car with water to s...

Re: Infotainment failed to turn on

Does the car still have it's original battery fitted? Being around four years old it's possible that it is not as efficient as it was. Low battery voltages can cause all sorts of odd electrical issues. A good battery should measure at least 12.6V at rest. Worth checking. I agree with niggly58. In m...

Re: PCP deposit and Brexit

When I ordered my current Tig in 2019, because of the prospect back then of the UK leaving the EU with no deal before the car arrived, the dealer advised that when it did arrive, if the manufacturer increased the price to reflect import duty, I could cancel the order and my deposit would be fully re...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good accurate tyre inflator?

Auto express did a review not long ago https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product-group-tests/36242/best-digital-tyre-pressure-gauge-2020 Yes, if you want a good tyre pressure gauge, Autoexpress seem to do annual reviews so would be a good place to look. If like m...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good accurate tyre inflator?

I purchased the Ring RAC660 which is both 12V and also mains powered so I can pump my tyres up without draining the car battery if at home, for instance. Otherwise, pretty much the same as the Ring RAC635 others have recommended.

Re: Sports Suspension v DCC (via retrofit if possible)?

I have 20" Suzukas on my Tiguan so same diameter but not exactly the same size wheel as Mirimars. My car has DCC and in sport mode, mine suffers from the same problem you are describing with the Miramars (a 'choppy' ride on any road that isn't smooth). However, I find putting the DCC in normal mode ...

Re: Tiguan Recall

I assume they couldn't re-stick the spoiler unless the existing adhesive had already failed. Otherwise, the bond probably would mean breaking the spoiler to get it off. So their options were a couple of bolts to secure what is there, or replace the spoiler. Obvious which is cheaper.

Re: Steering wheel lock for Tiguans

Autoexpress test steering locks every year. Here are the 2020 results:- https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/95031/best-steering-wheel-locks Stoplock Pro and Disklok both lasted the minimum 5 minutes required but while Disklok is described as the ultimate in security, the Stoplok Pro is t...

Re: Check Oil level!

I admit to often checking the oil when the engine is cold but then expect the level to be between min and max. When topping up an engine, I always ensure the engine is hot and has had about 3-5 minutes to rest (so oil drains back in the sump) before checking and I top up then to max (if needed). I'd...

Re: Insurance......?

Have been with LV for a few years. Each renewal do a comparison and there have been no significant savings to make me switch. Just had this year's renewal of £627. Used their online quote system and got £388 for the same cover (London postcode, clean licence, one claim in last 5 years, have named dr...
