Re: How is your DSG gearbox performing?

I had a similar problem with my then new 180PS TSI Mk 2 Tig in 2016. Whenever it changed up or down through 3rd gear, it had a loud clunk which I originally thought was the car diving over a loose manhole cover. I only did 14 miles before returning the car the same day I picked it up and having to ...

Re: How is your DSG gearbox performing?

Maybe. I've stopped paying attention to the issue generally. The ride in the Tiguan is not the smoothest anyway due to the: 1) wobbly Comfort suspension setting (which I desire anyway due to... well, Comfort). I wouldn't be using it if I lived in an area with better roads though 2) DSG characteristi...

Re: How do you emotionally cope with wheel misalignment

This hypersensitivity also extends to noticing pictures that are hung barely a millimetre off straight Yup, exactly the same mental condition here! My Tig has also retained its alignment so far, even after having accidentally driven into a number of killer potholes in the meantime. I still try to a...

Re: We Connect app screwed up

"The app is also incorrectly reporting the car as unlocked"

Had this issue too. The app is generally for very occasional use and mostly just spooking your friends with the remote honking feature with you hiding in the bushes.

Re: Top Gear Facelift Tiguan review

I'm betting my Tiguan that the touch controls whining will end within half a year from actual release of the car. If someone fancies the facelift but can't live with the steering wheel I'll gladly exchange it for my classic one. Same goes for the A/C control. Just don't mention this to your dealer m...

Synchronous mirror adjustment reset?

Can you "reset" the synchronous mirror adjustment feature somehow? My wife swears she only uses the L control, but whenever I get in and adjust the mirrors for myself, I have to readjust the right-hand mirror also, as the synchronous adjustment never quite gets the mirrors to the position I want. Th...

Re: Top Gear Facelift Tiguan review

What do you mean by the AC being too low? Exactly the same height as previously. The old steering wheel is just dated appearance-wise; In 10 years time it's going to look like a 20 years old Fiesta looks now. I've always had this impression, even before purchase. I actually liked the one from Seat T...

Re: Service and Tyre Wear

On the Pirellis my Tig would constantly slip on dynamic acceleration - mostly on wet surface (after/during rain), but also on dry roads occasionally. This never happened since the swap. So I'm surprised you are recommending it. To me it's complete toss. I sold the nearly new set to a local tyre deal...

Re: Service and Tyre Wear

Had Vredesteins Quadrac Pro (all-season) fitted last month (255/45/19 here) and they're great. Improvement over the factory Pirellis traction-wise and no noise.

Re: Which tiguan engine?

If you cruise a lot (regardless of final monthly mileage), go with diesel. The acceleration in the 60-120 range will probably be worth it. Otherwise, just forget it.
