Laridae! (Seagulls!)

I'm all for nature. I like birds and I always ensure not to trim hedges when they're nesting. But jeez, I'm at the end of my tether with the PLAGUE of urban gulls that reside locally to me. This has been an issue for a while. Drying laundry outside is a lottery. Garden furniture always needs hosing ...

Re: Carwow ID4 review

I watched this earlier. It wasn’t a bad unveiling, I quite liked the staging. And I don’t think it looks terrible in GTX trim. But if VW can make the current Golf look even half decent in GT trim, then this isn’t a total surprise. I just wish VW cared more about making their bread-and-butter variant...

Re: Spider Traps

Are we confident that the spider traps are the main cause of leaking sunroofs? I found this relating to VW sunroof leaks - https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2020/vw-sunroof-class-action-lawsuit-leaks.shtml Confident? No. But as someone who recently removed his in winter, I was horrified how blocke...

Re: Ash content in DPF

I wonder how it calculates this weight so precisely. I'll poke about in OBD11 to find my value. I've been astonished since I got my Tig at the state of the exhaust pipes. They still look factory fresh, whereas every petrol car I've owned has always been so much sootier. Guess it has to go somewhere...

Re: Battery issues

I've got a Yuasa AGM now, which hopefully in retrospect and by chance is an upgrade. It was the only thing the tiny indy garage in mid Wales could get. They couldn't code it to the car, but I was able to later with obdeleven. That said, at least 2x its taken an uncomfortable number of turnovers to g...

Re: Battery issues

Unfortunately my ctek charger doesn't have a display and I've no means of checking the voltage of the battery. I charged it only for 3 hours but as I was doing it in the house, I aborted when I heard the noise it was making and after reading your initial post, fearing it might burn the place down!

Re: Battery issues

By coincidence, I thought I'd have a go at charging my Sebang battery which I keep as a spare today. And this too is making a subtle bubbling / crackling noise whilst charging, which is unsettling. Furthermore, it has this light on, which is green (yay!) but beside an icon that looks bad (boo!) so I...

Re: Calling all sel owners

Removed my spider traps today. The 2 rear ones were iced up solid at the ends, and had a backlog of water in the tube (both were freely running only 500mi ago). Such a dreadful design, but in freezing temps they seem even worse than I thought! Driver side rear was a real fiddle to reach due to the A...
