Re: Loss of rear tyre pressure Car in garage more than I like ATM

I really despair at how some service managers think sometimes. Might not be the same thing but we had issues with the finish on wheels and the dealer refused to change them. I tried VW customer service and they told me it's entirely up to the dealer, but if they change them and VW don't agree they'...

Re: Heating The Car Up before a trip

That's the first time that I know of where the option is not available on a diesel Tiguan. Maybe it has been deleted completely, or perhaps it works automatically on newer cars and you can't turn it off. Does your car give heat from the air vents pretty quickly on cold mornings?. I wonder if it's s...

Re: Heating The Car Up before a trip

The diesel models have a supplementary heater which produces heat pretty quickly when it is cold. You have to make sure the option is checked on the main screen, I think it is 5 degrees or less that then makes it automatically activate. Your info says you have a 150 but you don't say whether it is ...

Re: Service intervals

I have never had a problem with VW servicing, I think the dealers understand it fine, the problem is owners not being clear on the different requirements. My experience is limited to a couple of VW dealers and a couple of SEAT dealers. I have to say the most recent SEAT dealer seemed quite switched...

Re: Service intervals

but there's someone on the Ateca forum who is adamant he's been told it's just 2 services and they can be done anytime. I picked up my Tiguan last week and was told the same. I specifically asked, as if the service plan couldn't be used for long life servicing I wasn't interested. My dealer said it...

Re: Service intervals

I don't think I've heard of that before, it's always been either fixed 15000km/1 year or flexible, no mention of a 2 year service interval at all. This is taken from my owners manual: On longlife servicing the absolute maximum it will go is 30,000kms or 2yrs. In practice it'll usually ask for a ser...

Re: Service intervals

As said above, they all come set to longlife servicing. The salesman should discus it with you but that's never happened in my experience of multiple VAG cars. If it's a private sale (inc PCP) they normally change them to fixed interval at PDI. Most private buyers will take the 2 service VW service ...

Re: Screen Wash

If they'll serve you, the Quantum Premium Fanjet stuff from TPS is pretty good. Thinks it's something like a fiver for 5 litres.

Both VW stealer and indy say will not pass MOT test....in UK.
They can't fail them on appearance any more (been several years since they could) only if they're seriously weakened. Assuming they pass the brake test of course - but it's unusual to fail that.

Re: Picked up new car. Couple of questions plz

Thanks a lot for all your answers. This definitely helps. I assumed that putting the car in "P" engages the parking breaks and hence I did not engage parking brakes manually (I was on auto-hold) yesterday. Lucky, I did not park the car on a slope... would have cried a lot if I had scratched/dented ...
