I have 2.0 litre TSi on order(and in transit) but my dealer told me this morning that VW are dropping this model. However it still shows on the configurator, though as before only SEL and R line. If you are pondering one of these might be worth making enquiries ASAP. Mind you, VW dealers seem to be specialists in misinformation!

Well the new Seat Ateca FR seems to be being released with a 2.0L TSI with 190PS instead of the current 180,so maybe it's getting refreshed?

My dealer told me the same thing 2 weeks ago. I decided to contact vw direct on twitter and they said it's the manual that's being dropped. Think they were using it as a sales tactic

Just checked with my dealer and got the following answer

"As far as I am aware, they are only stopping production of the 180tsi Manual as they have been over shadowed by the Automatic (no one at our branch has ever had an order for a 180 manual, they have all been automatic)"

Who knows though, wouldn't be surprised if they released a 190Tsi on the R-line as a differentiator

Super pissed the TSI was not even an option, some markets opted to remove that choice (even from launch in 2016). TDI's were the only route for 'SEL' specifications, no 2-litre petrols whatsoever - with that being said, there's a major vendetta against diesels across the continent, with its supposed planned obsolescence. Counterproductive, no? Primary use cases of most vehicles are within city limits.
