I think Dolphin Grey and the Nightshade Blue are both good choices. Otherwise I'd just stick with the free Urano Grey (or White if on a R-Line).

The black skirts on non-R-Lines are a real spoiler for certain colours. There's an SEL trim Tig down the road from me in the Oryx White. The colour looks great, but the black side skirts and bumpers really spoil the effect.

By contrast, a Urano Grey Tiguan Match (lesser spec car, free paint) that's parked on the same road actually looks better.

(Yes, I am that sad that I go around spotting Tiguans when I'm walking the dog!!!)

The facelift does a slightly better job of hiding the plastic but, but I'd still hope for the Mk III to sort that out a bit better.
