Ultimate looks nice, good price also.

But I prefer BSR here in Sweden, no cables etc :)

They offer a 30 day money back guarantee so may give it a go and let you all know how it goes!

Sounds great! :)
Would be great to get the punch of the 240BTDI for less than 500 pounds :)

Well I ordered so will see what its like! Can always return it if there's no significant improvement (or the mpg gets even worse!)

Hello there, I've looked into the remaps before and think I'm going to go for it the next time I'm home. What I have been told is to stay away from pug and play tuning boxes and to go with a reputable company with a rolling road who analyse the data of your specific engine (no 2 engines are the same) to get the best and safest results.

I also rang my insurance to see how much my payment would change and it was only buttons, just over £40 for the year so it's definatley worth you letting them know IMO.

If anything go's wrong with your car and they find out it's been mapped or had a box fitted, the warranty will be void so just be aware.

I'll dig out an email I received off the company regarding power and mpg gains and post it for you.

You'd sort of have it but surely without the second turbo (assuming the 240 is the the only twin turbo in the range), you'd only be getting some of that performance?

This topic did cause me to go and look at the configurator again and blimey, the difference in price for the popular model (150PS & DSG) is a bit of an eye opener. The jump from SEL to R Line is stonking (you'd need to jump from SE to SEL to get the same sort of cost difference) but that said the jump from S to SE is pretty steep too. Not really sure why the SE exists to be honest.

  • Model Cost Difference

    R Line 35755 2315

    SEL 33440 1575

    SE Nav 31865 725

    SE 31140 1810

    S 29330

Thanks Adamsy that would be useful! You are not wrong slowingdown, the difference between my r-line and the 240bhp one is over £5,000!

On the Racechip I have now received the unit and tried to fix it last night, unfortunately it seems with the engine I have you need to get underneath the car to fit it.

So I need to remove the under car tray to get to the turbo boost pressure plug, anyone know how to get to and remove this tray? No doubt I'll need to get the car on top of a ramp which makes the whole thing far less appealing!!

Hi

We actually have a 2016 Tiguan 2.0 190 ourselves, and have remapped many of these now with no issues. All of our remaps are written in house, by us so we don't buy any files in or anything like that, and we utilise our four wheel drive rolling road to constantly monitor the cars behaviour, as well as datalogging the car so we know exactly what is happening and when. We've had no issues in the past when we have remapped any 2.0 diesel, and we offer a lifetime ownership warranty on our software.

Below you will find our ECU remap and software upgrade options that we can offer you as well as a brief description of the process that we go through to ensure that your vehicle receives the best results possible.

Make: Volkswagen
Model: Tiguan
Engine: 2.0 150

Power increase: 40-50 bhp

Torque increase: 50-70 ftlb

Fuel economy gain: 8-12%

Price: £349 inc. VAT and rolling road testing

Please note: This vehicle may require ECU removal and bench programming. If this is the case, the total cost is £399.

Click the link below for our current pricing and to see what's included with our remapping options:
https://www.performance-centre.co.uk/

The figures above are an indication of the average gains for your car, however we treat every vehicle as an individual project and your vehicle will undergo the following testing and tuning methods as part of your ECU remap.

1. In depth electronic diagnostic investigation to ensure there are no underlying faults.
2. Visual inspection of the vehicle.
3. Baseline rolling road dyno testing, from this we will gather data on the car as well as its current power output.
4. Backup of the cars original ECU data before we start the remap process.
5. Custom tuning or 'remapping of the vehicles engine parameters based on real time live data.
6. Once we are happy with the results, final power testing is carried out and a before/after power graph showing BHP and Torque is produced, you get a copy of this.
7. We remove the car from the rolling road dyno and carry out further diagnostic checks to ensure the car is 100% clear of error codes before leaving.

All of our software is thoroughly tested and developed in conjunction with vehicle software specialists Richtër Technologies and is designed to enhance the drivability and power delivery of your engine, whilst maintaining reliability. We are often asked if we offer mobile remaps and cheap 'flash remaps' without carrying out all of the important stages that are listed above, but fortunately for you we have pride in our work and base our products on quality rather than cost. However, if you find a like for like product available on sale, please ask about our price match guarantee.

If you would like any further information, please call us on 0191 5239540 or feel free to reply to this email or you can find lots of information about our ECU remapping here:

Easy to install when you know how even managed to get to the under engine plug without taking off the underbelly tray with my relatively scrawny arms!!

Haven't been for a proper drive yet but immediately feels just nicer.

Will report back once I've been for a few goes in it!

had something similar from BSR when I had a Saab many years back. put the power up from 150 bhp to 204bhp. ran it for three years and never had a problem. would be interested if you could perhaps show some photos of the installation or the installation guide. might just convince me to follow suit, as I have the same engine as you.

I have to say I'm impressed, got the Racechip Ultimate Connect which allows you to set Economy, Sport or Race profiles via Bluetooth.

Only used the economy one so far (car has only done 1,000 miles so want to take it easy first) and it is definitely A) got more torque B) more responsive & C) more economical. Gone from circa 28 mpg in my TSI to about 32 mpg.

Once I've done a few more miles I'll try the sport and race and report back!

For installation I took a couple of pictures, there are three sensors it hooks up to 1) Turbo boost pressure (which is the most fiddly to get to as its right down low in the engine, but I was able to reach it without going underneath) 2) camshaft sensor 3) manifold absolute sensor.

Hello Apoc,

How's the car doing now you've had a few weeks since the chip was fitted?

Cheers.

I admire your bravery, doing this mod on a brand new car! Really interested to hear how you get on.

I have a lease Tig, so a map cannot happen.
Anyone who is thinking about this sort of mod should be aware that VW will find a map, or at least the "footprint" of the evidence of its use in the ECU.

But my GTi is on APR stage 2 (ready to go 2+ when I get around to it).
Maps were done by Awesome at Irlam, and they have been very good.
Car was 230 hp standard, currently running at 340hp. This gain has however needed quite a bit of hardware too.
The stage 1 map did show very good gains on standard hardware without any apparent disadvantages at all - even fuel consumption.

You say it may need a ECU removal and bench something or other...

You said you had done loads and have a tiguan so shouldn't you know if it needs a ECU removal.
