Hi everyone,

I've still got a couple of months or more till my SEL arrives. I'm a big music fan and, after reading in this thread

https://www.tiguanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=846#p7382

which references the manual I have started re-ripping my CD's as FLAC files in preparation.

I'm now wondering whether FLAC support is only on Discover Pro? I've just got the standard system that comes in the SEL although I have gone for Dynaudio.

So does the standard SEL media system cope with FLAC on the SD card?

Thanks

Gary

I keep my entire collection of music, about 3000 albums in FLAC format at home. I then re-encode them using Foobar2000 and LAME to MP3 for the car.

For years I have been very into HiFi and have a pretty good setup at home, I also hate lossy music formats... however

I specified the Dynaudio Option for my Tiguan.... I can pretty much guarantee you that even with the Dynaudio option you are not going to be able to tell the difference between FLAC and a high bitrate MP3. The car sound system simply does not have that level of resolution, to be honest with you, other than pumping out higher pressure levels and bass the Dynaudio option is pretty average.
