Hi all,

Just purchased a new 2017 Tiguan R-Line. Great car, love everything about it.

However, I have noticed a clicking or slight clonking sound when the gears are changing down. It only happens when I am braking fast and the gears are moving down the line quickly, say from 6th to 1st. Each gear as it descends makes a clicking noise mainly from 3rd to 1st, as the car is coming to an abrupt stop.

It doesn't seem to do this when I am manually operating the gears down quickly using the paddle shifters. Only when I am in 'Auto D'.

The noise is only very slight and doesn't bother me. I just want to check if this might be something more serious than just a 'comfort quirk'

Cheers guys

Yeah I think I will head back to thback dealer. Put the car in reverse today and put my foot on the accelerator then took it off so the car was jerking a bit and there was some more clicking / clonking noise! I'm thinking it could be something to do with the driveshaft (half drive)

Cheers
