Hello Ian, as you are Keynsham Ian I’m assuming you ordered from either Heritage VW Bristol or Bath VW? Anyway my sister in law ordered a new Tiggy Elegance from Heritage in November last year with a rough ETA this month but has now been told it may arrive September time, so you are not on your own

Ordered my Tiguan Elegance in June 2021 still waiting but I had a built week 11 but due to factory closure they are once again. Playing catch up hopefully my status 20 will turn to status 30 pretty soon

I ordered through a broker who ordered through Sytners because of better discount .Is there any truth that there may be a price increase .???
As I paid a deposit at time of ordering I was told that there would not be a price increase .
Would you know anything about that ???.

My Tiguan order is with Heritage of Bristol, ordered end of last October and given April delivery then updated end of February for October delivery.

I’ve sent them an e-mail yesterday asking if there’s been any improvement and who knows I might get an answer from them by October 22 the way things are going.

I just so happened to go into Heritage today about my wife’s pending Up! GTI and as I know t
most there asked how things were re new cars, they implied getting hold of new cars and trying to track on going orders is quite hit and miss right now, they often get build slots then they drop off the grid and so on and they are pretty frustrated with it all too and remember they don’t get paid until the customer takes delivery so they want the cars to arrive as much as we do, I finished working there a couple of years ago and still know a few so who is the sales person you are dealing with?

Ian, the price you agreed with the broker should stay the same unless there is a clause in the order that says it may increase price if VW do which they should have made you aware of but if not it very much should stay the same as you ordered, check your terms and conditions on the order form to be totally sure,

Hi Bree, status 20 means the build week has been confirmed as I’m sure you are aware as week 11 has passed and status 30 the car is on its way from the factory on its way to Emden in Germany to be shipped to the UK. I spoke to a few guys VW Bristol today and all is very much hit and miss with new cars what with build weeks and delivery, all very frustrating

Ian, the price you agreed with the broker should stay the same unless there is a clause in the order that says it may increase price if VW do which they should have made you aware of but if not it very much should stay the same as you ordered, check your terms and conditions on the order form to be totally sure,

At the moment prices are "protected". In other words VW should supply the vehicle to the dealer at the agreed price but, you will probably find in the contract that if there is an increase the dealer will give the buyer around 7 days to accept it or cancel with a full refund. There have been rumours and YouTube videos that suggest VW are considering removing the price protection from future orders. Government tax of course can change which will have to be paid.

Ian, where price increases might hit you is if the car goes over £40k before delivery. You might not pay more for the vehicle but you will end up paying the luxury ved charge.

My contact at Heritage was Samantha the Motability specialist but she told me she was leaving for pastures new a few months ago and haven’t got a clue who deals with my order now.

I did say to her that I hoped it wasn’t because of annoyed customers getting to her but she told she was moving on into something else and was her choice so who knows.

BTW I had good dealings with a Steve at Heritage Bristol in 2014 when I ordered a Golf Match but was told he had retired to France, don’t suppose that was you.

I think I’m that Steve who you dealt with back then as I also dealt with Motability customers and no I didn’t retire and go to France in fact I retired from the motor trade in August 2020,there was another Steve there at that time who went to VW in Bath

I ordered a Tiguan Elegance in July last year just when the chip thing all started, and the dealer kept on telling me it been delayed again, so I got fed up and I ordered a Hyundai Tucson plug in ultimate with tech pack in February and it arrived last week in tilbury from Korea and I pick it up from the dealers on the 27th of may.
So there are alternatives to VW.
