Hi all,
I tried to lock my car this morning but it did nothing. I tried my spare key and nothing. I got in to start it but got the message "Key not detected". If I hold the Fob right next to the steering wheel column it will start. I could understand if the battery died but both batteries in both fobs are fine. I popped off the cap to manually lock the car but the lock just turns and turns and does nothing. None of the lights on the fobs are flashing when I click a button.
I put the key in the lock and pressed the open button then tried to start the car but that didn't work.
It just seems that connection between the car and fobs have failed. I read somewhere that if you disconnect the battery for 10 minutes it will reset the computer but I haven't tried that yet.
So I cant lock the car at all.
I would be very grateful if any of you guys or girls could help me out.
