....until you need to replace it? The old keys were cheap to buy and get cut, these new things are about £300 ,and programming....2 steps forward and 1 step back..as usual.

Yes I suppose we are lucky to be able to just replace batteries, my daughter has a freelander 2 and that has the key placed in a slot in the dash...supposedly it charges the rechargeable cell when you are driving..hopefully...she had to have 2 new keys (you can't just change the cell) cost was eyewatering.
