There was too much going wrong on my old 09 Passat so took the plunge on a new car.
My mind was really set on a Kodiaq, but getting one in the spec I wanted I would be waiting a looong time.
(Main issue I need a towbar, and many Kodiaqs are not prepared to retrofit one)

So a Grey Tiguan Allspace was advertised at my local VW dealer (Showroom car) with lots of gadgets I got that instead. (And I did the research after). Signed 23 December...and delivery on the 30th...

It's a nice car, and hopefully I will find someone to retrofit a towbar.

Agree Gaza, go for the factory fit swivel tow bar if you can. It will talk to the car when anything is connected via the tow bar thus altering your eta on the gps and also display the indicator repeaters. Plus it hides away under the bumper when not in use.

I obviously have the car already. Can the factory version be retrofitted?

I do not tow often. I have a sailing dinghy that I like to have the option to tow couple of times a year for a short. I used to have a detachable one on my first car (Golf). I can live with spending 3 minutes taking it on and off for the few times I would expect to use it. I'm pretty sure that an independent provider will be cheaper.
