No charge schedule possible with 2024 ehybrid

So am I correct in thinking it’s the charger and not the car that can’t cope with scheduled charging and it’s a matter of changing the charger to one that can?

Theoretical solution if having the charger plugged into the car with no power to the charger doesn’t drain the 12v battery would be to have an electrician instal a timer between the consumer unit and the charger so that you could set that instead.
Not ideal as more expense but could work?

I got the impression they will not as they concluded with the message tough schedule manually. I have a shell recharge unit that will not schedule my car but not sure if any chargers will schedule.

Octopus takes over car and this charger and sorts everything
What do you do now to get that cheap charging?

Chat to octopus they were very helpful
That’s very good that Octopus can do that. I wondered how you were going to overcome the problem after your previous posts and thought you might need to get a different charger. No need to chat with them though as my TDI doesn’t need charging 😉

Even if you get a positive reply, you’re still going to be on edge seeing if yours works for the first time. You may as well just get that first charge over and done with, it’s the only way you will know for sure. Can you use a cloth or something to muffle the alarm in case it goes off? At least that way you can rest assured if nothing’s changed and the battery flattens and the alarm goes off, you won’t be disturbing your neighbours.
