Although it is more expensive than other types of diesel, I have always tried to fill up with Shell Nitro diesel in my previous cars. I have found it smoother running and produced slightly better mpg than supermarket fuels. I intend to use it in my new Tiguan. What are other owners thoughts and experience of premium fuels?

Yes, I use it in my Jetta 140 TDi. I too find about 5 mpg better on a good run at motorway speeds and the overtaking is improved with a tremendous response. I suppose the difference in cost being about 10p per litre may seem a lot compared to 10p's worth of fuel but I feel happier knowing that they claim the engine benefits too.

I started by running the tank down, prior to going on a run, filling up with V-Power and judging the difference. Knowing the benefits from that exercise, I use it all the time now and intend to on the new Tig. (Well, petrol soon not diesel though!!)
