I collected Tigger, as it has come to be called, yesterday afternoon and, so far, I've found nothing to fault.

I have to confess to some nervousness about the colour - Titanium Beige - if only because there seem to be so few of them around. I needn't have worried. Understated elegance is the description my wife used. I suspect that VW has made a mistake in calling it "beige", as that conjures up visions of maiden aunts working on their embroidery. I noticed that one dealer said that he had only sold one Mark 1 Tiguan in the colour and "that was to an elderly gentleman". As I shall be 70 later this year, I guess the cap fits!

Judge for yourselves from the pictures below.

Why DSG? Becuase I have driven an automatic for 25 years and I shall not be changing now. Why 4Motion? Becuase although Norfolk is not renowned for its mountainous landscape, we do seem to specialise in muddy car parks. More to the point, Tigger will spend a couple of months each year in Southern Greece, where there is an abundance of steep, unpaved tracks to be visited.

Hi NorfolkBoy,

Very nice indeed, I have seen a couple of MK2 in Titanium Beige over here in Germany and it was a popular colour with the MK1 owners here as well. It is one of those colours which photos and and brochure pictures do not do it justice, the colour looks great in the sunshine.

Enjoy your new Tigger and I wish you safe and pleasant driving.

Welcome fellow Norfolk owner,

I saw a mk2 on Sunday driving along the M25 in this colour and thought to myself that is different.

Shame my wife wouldn't let me venture into the colour chart more and not have to stick with the pearl black 😂

Hi NorfolkBoy

It looks great; I have to admit it wasn't a colour I ever considered, but it does look nice in the flesh - understated elegance indeed. It also goes very nicely with those sandy Norfolk bricks!

Enjoy!

I really like it. I discounted in because of beige and my dealer said he had never sold one and so I couldn't see one in the flesh. I am very happy with my pure white especially as I have just come from the car wash and it comes up beautifully. However if I was ordering now I would be tempted.

Like most people I dismissed it straight away. The pictures look good though.

Fashion in car colour is so influential, and people buy what they see in the magazines/TV/interweb. Back in the mid 2000s grey cars suddenly became the in thing, now it's white cars everywhere (I remember when the only cars in white had panels for rear windows)

Very true. I had a white Ford Escort Ghia back in the 1970's, but that had a black vinyl roof. You don't see many of those these days!
