I have had mine for 14 months and done 8k , no faults, apart from the one recall.
 
14k miles, no issues coming up to second service.

VW are generally very reliable, so I think its nonsense what you have heard. If you are having a car for 10 years you will get problems. Hondas are good but not real 4 wheel drive. The RAV is a Toyota so it speaks for itself. The Tuscon is not a proper 4WD either. you have to switch 4WD drive on the Honda and Tuscon. If this is not an issue then no problem.

I looked at all the cars you have and a few more. I bought the VW for what I believed was best value and suited my for looks and kit.

Are you then suggesting that Tiguan is proper 4WD?
