Car arrived yesterday - it was driven up to me by the supplying lease dealer in quite foul weather conditions - arrived with 415 miles on the clock so I'll get them to adjust the starting mileage for the lease calcs.
I had a quick look around yesterday to check for any obvious damage, and again today when weather improved - seems to be fine. Quite like the facelift 19s compared to the earlier SEL wheels - came on Hankook Ventus tyres. Sliders on the temperature controls are simple to use and not quite sure what the negative comments are all about.
Set up the head unit - seems nice and swift in operation and wireless CarPlay is easy to use. At start up, wwapping between the stored user profiles for wife and I seems straightforward enough too for different radio presets, etc. I knew voice activation wasn't standard on the Discover media units, but it gives an option to take you to their online store to pay to activate it - no option though (yet?) once you click through - it just shows the 3 year standard functionality for the We Connect Plus plus the optional data allowance purchases.
When setting up the We Connect app logins, ended up being verified by a video chat with an operator in Germany to confirm access to all the online functions - it was all very efficient and seamless!
Apart from that, it seems quiet, comfortable and well equipped in Elegance trim, and the driving assistance pack is quite a step up from the last VW I had, a 2015 Golf GTD.
Have a genuine VW dog guard to fit next, and a clear plastic film for the rear bumper to sort when the car is properly cleaned and dry.
Also bought a genuine 'Auckland' wheel on eBay to have fitted with a full size tyre so we can have a spare instead of the mobility kit that comes standard now.
