What the hell is a 5NA920791b?
It's VW part number for the tiguans AID. 5NA920790 is for the AID without navigation and 791 with the nav option. Then they add an A, B, C at the end depending on the date of manufacture.

So you have done the retrofit, any pictures as i know you started a thread about this but we have not seen your hard work?
I wanted to install an old version of the AID and not the new one with the temperature and the fuel gauge on the sides as i don't like the looks of it. Old AIDs are compatible with new Tiguans IF the tenth letter of your VIN is up to a K. If it is an L then the old AID is not compatible. Yes i have done it but sorry didn't make any pictures as the internet is full of guides on how to dismantle -reassemble everything:

For the component protection removal i used a local dealer then the whole coding was done by a friend of mine who has VCDS. For some reason (beyond my technical knowledge) it was a real pain to adapt the new displays immobilizer to the keys. We've done everything else in about one hour, and it took us another hour to figure this out.

One more info for those willing to install an AID. You can't edit the mileage if the AID has more than 100Km mileage.

Hey guys, thank you very much for the replies. I very much agree, the first generation one is much better visually
The old one was also 12.3" while the cheaper one used now is 10.3"
