Sudden Errors/Malfunctioning after return from dealer

Post by ZaheerUK » Sun Aug 04, 2019 8:23 pm

Car been to the dealers for an engine management. Light which they said was due to a wiring loom corrosion and resulted in windscreen replacement.
Picked up yesterday and today I have more malfunctions with Cornering Light AFD, Error Dynamic Road Sign Display, Lane Assist not available, ACC deactivated.
Tried switching off ignition - but to no avail.
I’ve attached some pictures. Does anyone have any idea what might have gone wrong??
Can anyone please help?

Take it straight back to the dealer.
It could be related to the questionable screen replacement.
They should not have let it out of their workshop without thorough testing, given the problems you had.

That’s not good from the dealer, surely that should have been easy to see.

As mentioned your going to have to give it back to the dealer to fix.

Thanks for the response guys. Funnily enough during the day it has been fine. This problem only started when I drove the car in the dark for the first time! I’m very surprised the dealer did not thoroughly test the car before handing it back. I’m probably going to another dealer next time.

You have to decide if you can trust it to be fixed or whether you want to reject the car. If you do accept a further fix you should get some extended warranty for future electrical issues.

On a post on here about battery replacement, it was mentioned that after the battery has been disconnected, there are lots of errors appear on the dash till the various systems and sensors sort themselves out. It might be this, but still better going back to the dealer to be sure.

You'd think the dealership would give the customer a "heads up" in that respect and say something along the lines of " come straight back if the warnings don't go" wouldn't you?

In my experience, the errors that result from battery disconnection resolve themselves after driving for a few miles. The OP had these errors the next day after returning from the dealer. So I suspect they are related to the windscreen replacement and the previous electrical problems they were trying to fix.
I would be more concerned why a new car had a corroded wiring loom and needed a new windscreen....
