What are your long term figures?

Just made a record of my first 4000 miles. I have no idea how accurate the average mpg figure is as I haven't done a brim to brim check yet.
What is everyone else achieving?.

Very nice figure, although from average speed it looks like you drive (commute) on fairly quick roads without queues.
My MPG from last 18,000 miles is (as you see below) around 45.

Ours is mid 40's but that is in short crappy journeys mostly. Am happy with that figure given the usage and size/weight of the car. A long run will net 55 mpg-ish but we don't do many of those.

Solihull > Cumbria the week after next and trolling round the National Parks and the Dales should give it a bit of a run though 😊

You're right. It's my company car and I drive throughout the UK to get to customers so plenty of longer journeys which give pretty good mpg figures and higher average speeds, then it all drops off quite quickly when you get to a city with traffic queues and lower speeds.

Ours is around 44mph DSG 150. Has done 10,000miles now since June without fault. I do think the mpg could be a bit better due I think the gearbox drags gears on for too long under medium acceleration which doesn't help as it never allows the engine to use it's torque. I don't drive it often though (partner does) and she is a bit heavier footed than me!

It can return excellent figures though, when we picked it up brand new I average around 57mpg on a run to Wales and back.

Forgot to mention in my previous post that I have noticed 3-5 mpg difference between Fuelly and infotainment of my Tiguan. So take it into account as Tig's reading is a bit overoptimistic. I've got all my refuels since new calculated in Fuelly therefore I know these are more accurate.

I have now had my Tiguan 3 months and made a note of my second 100 hours of driving which came up earlier this week. I noticed the average mph for my first 100 hours was 40mph, my second 100 hours average was 41mph so fairly consistent. Unfortunately the mpg has gone down slightly but I've noticed on the many VW's I've had this is quite normal during the colder and wetter months. Hopefully it will improve once the summer arrives. My first 100 hours are shown at the beginning of this thread.

600 miles in and mine shows at 44mpg being used on a mixture of roads and motorways, driven carefully to bed the engine in.

I've been used to 55 mpg in my Golf so this is smarts a bit but when you consider the size and weight difference, plus the auto box and the 4wd I guess it ain't too bad.

I use a road trip app to record my mpg figures

Typically on a motorway run I expect in the range 45 to 55 mpg depending on how much I boot it, how much load I'm carrying, headwind (seems very sensitive losing a good 5 mpg going into a strong wind).
Round town I get a respectable 30-35 unless it's really stop-start conditions.
All in all pretty good for a heavy 4wd lump of car IMHO !
:D

.. Where is this mysterious screen you're all posting photographs of? I can't seem to find it..
Depending which infotainment system you have, I have the 2018 Discover system, so on mine I press the button that says 'CAR', then use the arrows at the top of the screen to scroll through the menus.

I have a MY18 model with the Discover Nav (the version without physical buttons down each edge). When I press Car and use the arrows, the only two screens are about the Car Status (which never shows anything aside from the fact that the start stop is disengaged), and tyre pressures..

I'll have to dig out the manual I think.

Ah what app do you use? I did my last one on a spreadsheet which became far too complicated!
Here is the app I use from the App Store, buts it's also available on Android

Road Trip MPG Lite by Darren Stone

Not bad for a 2.0 pushing this much weight (and whilst still bedding in)..
Just completed a round trip to Fort William to do some winter walking in Glen Nevis - fabulous day with blue sky, sun and lots of snow on the mountains. Even better is the performance of my SEL 2.0 TSI 4Motion which returned 40mpg at an average speed of 38mph on the road up Loch Lomonside and through Glencoe to Glen Nevis and back (had to slow down a wee bit to miss the potholes and the deer  ). As a matter of interest, you'll see I drive with Sport mode selected rather than Normal because I find the response much better.

I'm sure you can look forward to significant fuel efficiency improvements as you clock up the miles :)

I have just completed my third 100 hours of driving (long term trip computer). Really surprised by how consistent my driving appears to be despite the fact I drive all over the UK for work, so no two journeys are the same. For my 100 hours driving, average speed and mileage:

I have now had my Tiguan for 6 months/16.4k miles and completed my 4th 100 hours of driving (long term) this morning, I'm still amazed how consistent my driving appears to be, especially in terms of average speed and distance driven, the mpg is within a few mpg as well. If anyone can be bothered or is interested my previous three long term figures are also in this thread.
It has also just come up saying it needs it's first service so I must get it booked in.

Would be nice if everybody put in there foot note if there Tig was TDI or TSI !!
Fair point, I keep forgetting you can have a 150 in both TDI & TSI - or at least used to be able to as the 150 TSI doesn't feature at all on the Tiguan configurator at the moment, the only petrol listed is the 180 TSI.
I have now changed my signature to include TDI to avoid any further confusion.
