Re: 2.0tdi 2017 Wont start
I just get "Engine Starting" on the AID. This can take up to about 5 seconds first thing on a cold morning, but not noticeable when restarting a warmed engine.

That’s good then. Looks like it waits automatically so I can just press the start button without having to worry about waiting for a indicator to go out.

Yes get in press the button once and when the car is ready it will start for you, no having to wait like in the old days for the glow plug indicator to go out before starting the car.Tubemonster wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 3:28 pmThat’s good then. Hey Mr Tubemonster, Yes there is a symbol on the dash about 2 or 3 from the left among all the other warning lights when you press the start button for the first time. It does go out fairly quickly so you have to watch for it as you hit the button.
Re: 2.0tdi 2017 Wont start
It normally isn't on long, unless it's close to or below zero degrees. Then you'll see it on a couple of seconds longer.
Re: 2.0tdi 2017 Wont start
Mixtu, did you ever get this sorted? I've had my Tiguan 2.0 TDI for 11.5 months and 11k miles now, and last night it failed to start after I filled it up with diesel.Mixtu wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 2:25 pmAs the title says I have an r-line 2.0tdi 2017 4motion DSG. On three separate occasions now it has failed to start. I tried it numerous times on each occurrence and nothing. The Starter motor turns over but the engine does not fire up. Battery, fuel and all other obvious reasons have been eliminated.
Leave it for 30 mins and then its starts no problem!
Main dealer is puzzled by whats happened.
Has anyone else experienced this.
I could hear the starter motor repeatedly trying, but engine would not turn over. Kept trying again every few minutes.
After checking that yes, I definitely hadn't put unleaded in it, I called VW assistance and was shocked to discover my 'guarantee' had expired. I guess Lex Autolease registered the car in December, despite me getting it on 31 January. Can't quite believe you only get 12 months cover - all my previous cars came with 3yrs.
After a bit of an argument, which took about 20mins, they agreed to send someone out. I then tried the car again, and lo and behold it started first time. Very odd.
I'd just done a 50 mile journey on motorway and A-roads. Range indicator said 40 miles so I pretty much filled the tank, which is what I usually do. Stopped as soon as the pump cut out and didn't overfill. Ad-blue was topped up about a month ago.

Re: 2.0tdi 2017 Wont start
I had mine in at the dealership on Wednesday to investigate the issue starting the car, under warranty. I gave them the video from my dash cam which showed the problem when it happened to me, but because it's intermittent, they couldn't replicate in the garage in order to work with their diagnostics. Basically acknowledged that there's something wrong but couldn't offer any solution.
Sods law - Jumped in the car this afternoon and it happened again. Just cranked over every time I turned the ignition for a good 5 minutes before it started up.

I had this same problem last year. I did have a DTUK CRD3+ box fitted but it had been removed, so after mild panic, I popped the bonnet, removed the engine cover and disconnected, blew out and reconnected the following connectors:-
Rail pressure sensor
Boost pressure sensor
Camshaft sensor
Once complete, the engine started over no problem.
Worked for me, might just have been luck!
PS DTUK box now refitted and works great, really gives the 150 what it deserves.
Cheers
