Good Deal?
Good Deal?
Hi All,
First time poster and looking to change to a Tiguan 230ps from my Golf GTI. Been offered a pcp deal of around £425pm with 3k deposit from a local dealer. Managed to haggle £5700 off list price with the 2k deposit contribution included so the Tiguan as I’ve spec’ed it is discounted to £33,900. Does this seem like a good deal?
Cheers

If you're happy it's a good deal. Surely that's what matters most

Very true. It’s about £1000 more than I’ve got from drivethedeal so I think its reasonable. Just curious as to what others have haggled.stephendutton63 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:20 pmIf you're happy it's a good deal. Surely that's what matters most

Re: Good Deal?
If it helps our Allspace SEL in 1.5 petrol, auto with no extras was £26,400. I'm having trouble finding out what the list price was when we ordered in in July but we had a finance contribution of £2,500 and the list price right now is £33k.
Re: Good Deal?
As Drivethedeal are cars supplied by UK main dealers, the same price should be achievable. I once managed to get within £100 of the drivethedeal price on a new Tiguan, which I was happy with as it saved the journey. Dealers don't like it, but tough - they either want the business or they don't. I'd suggest that you have another £800-900 to shave off that deal before signing. Keep in mind the depreciation that you will suffer and it will help you to remain steadfast!

Re: Good Deal?
Thanks for the input guys. Managed to get another £300 off and a better deal for my trade in. More or less comparable with the drivethedeal price as they were offering a fair bit less on the trade in.
Hopefully be signing for it tonight

Re: Good Deal?
Especially as they don't have to pay DtD's commission, which is hundreds of pounds.

Re: Good Deal?
First time post for me as well and just ordered the R-line 230ps and trading in a Golf Gti. I managed to get them to match the DTD price, but they gave me a low PX on my car, I managed to get the price up a bit, but will try and sell it privately, if I can find someone willing to wait. I couldn’t make my mind up between White and Indium, I went with Indium as the Golf is White. Hope I’ve made the right choice, I had an Indium Scirocco before the Golf and liked that so fingers crossed
Re: Good Deal?
If you managed to get near the DTD price I'd be happy with that. You never pay list for a car and if you feel you got the best price you can then that's all that matters. Different dealer groups will have different incentives so it's not always possible to match or better deals that you see posted.
Sounds like you've all done alright to me.
