So, to add to the confusion. I ordered side scan only on my Allspace. Noticed this thread yesterday so just tested my car on the way to work now. It also has emergency assist (warnings, jabby breaks, etc) working on it if you leave the car to use lane assist with no inputs.

Can only presume whichever you order (side scan or emergency assist) you end up with the full emergency assist package?

I certainly hope so Matt!! Why would you have two packages listed as the same cost - but one package includes the other plus extras. Boggles my mind!

It could possibly have something to do with some features being DSG only, coupled with poor explanation in the literature. Emergency assist and traffic jam assist wouldn’t work with a manual gearbox.

I agree with you. But then why would it be listed as an option when you’ve selected DSG. Side Scan option should be for manual only. DSG should only show the Emergency Assist option.

Here is proof from the two pricelist that shows Emergency Assist on the Tiguan is more feature packed and is not similar on Tiguan Allspace. Think I will stick with Side Scan on my Allspace order.

Just a thought, regarding Emergency Assist, if my UK car is driven on the continent and Emergency Assist is triggered which lane will it steer the car into? How does it know I’m now driving on the opposite side to UK?
Must be something about ACC or the dynamic lights.
