Re: From Order Number to Build Week Confirmed
My “promised” timeline is in my signature. Despite dealer originally saying this would be my build week, no status change yet. They’ve also failed to return calls or emails asking for an update. To be honest, I’m not going to be mucked about. I’m already looking into second hand options both VW, Volvo and Audi. My current Qashqai was bought new and wasn’t this frustrating. They gave me a date when I ordered and it actually came a week early.

Ordered - August 2018Papalazarou wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 8:37 pmHi all,
I just wanted to document for myself, and other new buyers the current lead times in the process.
I ordered on 16th March at dealers.
22/03/19 - 1 week later - Dealer emailed me with order number
23/03/19 - 1 day later my order appeared on the 'My VW' app - "With The Factory"
I am aware there were long delays in the past from last year's WLTP issues. What are people's experiences with more recent order timelines, i.e. this side of the new year?
How long to go from 'With The Factory' to build week confirmed? Appreciate some of you have this info in your signature but others don't. Would be good to get an idea of the current lead times of 'new orders' post the WLTP 'crisis'.
Build Week Confirmed today 10/04/19
Good luck.

Do we think that port delay is WLTP related for yours?JK-VWTiguanR wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:51 pmWell as mentioned on my own thread mine is still sitting at the UK port and it's now coming up to 2 weeks so 6 weeks in total sitting at a German or UK port, not impressed.

Re: From Order Number to Build Week Confirmed
Mine is provisionally build week 21, so from 20th of May. It hasn't change from with factory yet but it's also not within 4 weeks of build so I'm not overly concerned as yet.
If the Muppets sort out Brexit I'll wait until September as was my original plan. If they don't come up with a deal now and it's postponed until end of June I may well take the car early. If we crash out without a deal then the Tiguan may crash out as well, as there is no way I'm paying 10% import duty as well.

Re: From Order Number to Build Week Confirmed
No as i have order the new 230 model which passed the WLTP before it was released to order, i was told the delay was due to VW wanting to export as many cars out of Germany into the UK to avoid any Brexit price increases and as such they have too many cars at the UK ports.Wardy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:37 amDo we think that port delay is WLTP related for yours?JK-VWTiguanR wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:51 pmWell as mentioned on my own thread mine is still sitting at the UK port and it's now coming up to 2 weeks so 6 weeks in total sitting at a German or UK port, not impressed.

Re: From Order Number to Build Week Confirmed
Hi, just ordered my first VW, a Tiguan R-Line tech 1.5TSI DSG on Tuesday. I was informed it would probably be the end of August/beginning of September before I am able to get my hands on it.

Ordered a Tiguan R-Line 230 tsi on the 25th March, had a confirmed build date for week 18. Fingers crossed, the dealer says it should be with me by the back end of May

Re: From Order Number to Build Week Confirmed
Did your dealer say its confirmed or the app. As i ordered the same car on the 12th of Feb and they gave me a provisional build week of 20 and the app is still on stage two 'with factory'. I also know a couple of others who ordered their car in Feb and was quoted week 20.

The dealer may have had an order in the system already that they converted over to the new spec. When you order and when the car is going to be made/delivered doesn't always tie up.
