Apple watch bluetooth

Post by Mixtu » Mon Apr 01, 2019 10:25 am

Hi Folks has anyone managed to connect an apple watch to the Tig?

I am keen to do hands free calling using the bluetooth.

I'm confused. What's the benefit to pairing the watch and not the phone
I think it looks very silly talking to a watch to be honest

The benefit could be if you have a cellular watch and your phone is left at home / office, the watch will pair to the car and you wont look silly talking to your watch.
Did wonder if the law makes a difference between being on a mobile phone and the being on a mobile watch :D

Unfortunately the Apple Watch is unable to pair with car systems at present using Bluetooth.
I agree, if you have an LTE watch it would be an asset, and whether Apple have plans to rectify it is doubtable considering you would have to interact with the watch, which I suppose would be the equivalent of using a hand held phone.
A grey area all round, but one which the law would probably not allow.

So now I'm really confused
These watches can be miles away from your phone and still receive calls and text etc . How ?

They have their own virtual SIM card which effectively makes them phones in their own right.

Thank you I never knew that
Now I understand the desire to want to pair them

Hey...

Just wondered if there was an update to this thread. I’m looking at getting a iPhone series 5 watch with cellular which will be paired with my iPhone 11. Does anyone know if you can then leave your phone at home and connect the watch to VW Apple carplay?

Afraid not, there’s no way to connect the Apple Watch to Carplay.
