AID on March 2019 1.5 TSI SEL.

Hi - sorry if this has been discussed and sorted previously, but I've been trying the various permutations of driving data to display.

The default setting is OK, but who needs to know the gear they are in - on a big display?
I'd rather have speed on one side and mpg on the other, but this doesn't seem possible - or am I missing something?

Also, are the colours on the display set at the factory, or can they be altered by the dealer or user ?

I'm not that keen on blue pointers and pink dials !

The colours can be changed via the main console menu. Not sure about the Gear inidcator.

Not even got my Tiguan yet but am reading up as much as I can on the features of the AID!

That's done after a OBD hack, its not standard, you have to have your system configuration changed.

I hadn't noticed until I saw the picture at the beginning of this thread how badly the new AID is fitted in to the console, I really don't like the two joining areas that I have highlighted below. VW should have made a better job of this in my opinion, making it all in to one unit like the original Tiguan AID, not the three that it is now poorly joined together. It may be the camera and/or photo but the plastic colours don't even look the same to me.

New AID isn't even 11.7", its 10.3"

Ironically I did lots of research on the AID, only to get the new smaller one which isn't that configurable IMO

I have the new aid and tbh I like it. I was a little apprehensive as I test drove a Tig with the old AID.

The colour change can be done with an OBD hack. they wouldn’t care if you’d changed the AID colour unless it resulted in it being the source of a claim.

I’m sure that if someone is local to you with an OBD11 they’ll do it. I’m in the NW so if your close to Manchester/Liverpool, I can do it for you. Takes 5 mins.

From all reports it is a lot more configurable than the old one.

CNC - the photo seems to make the joints more pronounced than they really are.
The bevelled edges don't help, but it is what it is - 3 instrument panels side by side.
I agree, VW could have done it better, but it's probably cheaper than all on a single panel.

OBD2 scanners are not that expensive - can you recommend one ?

As an aside, has anyone got an issue with the Navigation system showing wrong speed limits ?
I've found it often shows 60 on some dual carriageways and 20 on most residential streets, when these are wrong.
The camera seems OK as it picks up temporary signs on roadworks.
My dealer says I have the latest software Europe 1 (V9).
