Worth copying to this thread in case the other site goes off line for any reason,

Here are the exact details for the changes using OBDeleven:

Control unit: 09 Central Electrics - Adaptions - Int. light, 2nd generation - Instrumententafelbeleuchtung mehrfarbig - Set to Active
Control unit: 09 Central Electrics - Adaptions - Interior light, light configuration - Ambient_Farbliste_HMI - Set to Active
Control unit: 09 Central Electrics - Adaptions - Ambientelicht Farbliste - Set your RGB Values for all 10 Colour options (Rotwert = Red, Gruenwert - Green, Blauwert = Blue)

Once you have applied the codings reset the Infotainment unit (hold power button down until system reboots) then go into Car - Settings - Background Lighting and you can switch from Brightness Setting to Colour Setting. Change the colour here changes it in the Discover Head Unit as well as the AID.

OBD11 is much easier than a VCDS cable
Don't you need to buy credits each time you want to use it though?

Only if you use the precoded settings. You can make changes like this as often as you like.

Hmm might investigate then. Do you need a specific bluetooth OBD reader?

Yes you do unfortunately. I bought the pro version that came with 200 credits. You also get 1 credit each day for just opening the app. You can also long code with it without costing any credits. OBDeleven have their own forum that give long coding tips.

I'm based in Carlisle. As I say I've got VCDS. I don't have the car yet though, trying to run before I can walk haha

JK many thanks for this. I'd configured the colour palette via a YouTube clip I'd seen elsewhere but they missed the all important/crucial
Ambient_Farbliste_HMI - Set to Active setting!

I've been hunting around for weeks trying to get this going...got all 30colours going now. It's a bit excessive...but oh well :D
