Post by Papalazarou » Thu May 16, 2019 1:32 pm

Hi,

I thought i would start a thread where people can leave recommendations for what they think has helped childproof their pride and joy.

Seat protectors
Boot organisers
Rear seat organisers
Rubber mats vs fabric mats
sun visors
Infotainment
Baby Mirror fittings
etc etc etc

I am yet to get my Tiguan, but on my potential list so far are:

Rear boot clear film protector (dragging buggy in and our of boot) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bumper-Strip ... SwUuhXcAGq

Some kind of boot tray for muddy pram

Seat protector to go under car seats (to protect indentation marks on leather) -
Half length

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Protector-upho ... 1546213031

vs full length
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Protector-upho ... 123&sr=8-5

You get the idea....

Post your recommendations / questions here!

I've not got kids (yet) but I've Scotchgarded the interior. That should help against dropped food and drink?

Great idea for fabric seats! Never had leather seats before- is anything needed on them? I purposely chose leather seats from recommendations from friends "get leather - easy wipe down with kids"

I think the Tiguan is only part leather so a bit if Scotchgard wouldn't go amiss. £16 for two bottles on eBay. Did my full Tiguan with 3/4s of one

For leather protection, take a look at G-Techniq L1.

For maintenance I use Poorboy's Leather Conditioner, which keeps the leather supple.

Hey all,
My first post as i`m picking up my Tiguan tomorrow. Also just wondering if there are any recommendations for rear mats? Having had a previous car with chewing gum stuck in it looking for something rubber related (too late for condoms).

I've not used the Tiguan ones but my GTD had genuine VW rubber mats and they were excellent. Easy to clean, lasted forever and fit perfectly.
