I have left the folding mirrors operational for that reason, I only have to look at the car to see if it is locked.

Anyone know why the SEL doesn’t get the keyless entry or Reversing camera which the otherwise lower spec MATCH does get?

The Match model was introduced well after the SEL model. I suspect it was specced up to increase sales.

The 'match' model is VW's mid life kicker, usually introduced with lots of extras to maintain interest when there's a new model in the offing. My 2015 mk1's a match, so's my misses 2016 polo. The polo was introduced for my16, with the updated polo released in my18. This may give you a clue when the mk2 facelift is due.

Good question.
When I ordered my SEL last august the Match didn't exist, but came out before I took delivery last Jan , VW also removed the roof lighting and reduced the size of the display from 12.3" to 10.3, and the SEL really got no extra equipment, while the Rline was given extra goodies and renamed rtech.

I would have cancelled but it meant losing my deposit as I paid for keyless and area view, both not cheap.

Anyone ordering now could see a similar situation with a face lift model due.
I've never bought a car where lower cheaper models have equipment higher trims don't, if I ever buy another VW I won't accept a long delivery time for this reason.

I thought this was curious, but apart from these 2 items, the SEL does get a lot more than the match, with sunroof, active display and winter pack, LED headlights and taillights all standard. The match also gets plain cruise not ACC.

It's just unfortunate the two features you wanted were added to the match, which is otherwise a considerably lower spec.

I think you were just unlucky you got well and truly caught at the height of the WLTP problems. Usual waiting times are much shorter, mine was 12 weeks from order to delivery, not ideal but not too bad.
Either that or buy a new stock car and try to find one with the options you would like.

OK, looking at the pricelist it shows cruise but doesn't mention it's ACC, wondered why I couldn't see ACC listed separately. It also only lists it for SE and SE nav and match

From current price list, also reads the same for the SE & SE Nav.
