Yes I have looked at that topic but just want to confirm you get 30 days to pay it as I need it too tie in with the money I'll be getting.

You can pay at anytime.....
I’m pretty sure you have 14 days to withdraw from the agreement without penalty- just pay a few days interest.
After 14 days, the agreement is then in place and although you can easily withdraw, there are penalties.....

I have always waited for the confirmation paperwork, I think the most interest I have paid is about £40

Yes that’s correct - you get 30 days from when you phone them to give notice, and the interest is frozen in that period. So if you time it well you could have say 43 days (giving one day safely margin!) from when you initially sign the agreement to having to make the settlement payment.
Hope that helps.

Just for information does anyone know what the cost are if you cancel after say two months of having the car , what charges would they charge?

There are no penalty charges. You just pay the interest on the period that you had the loan. I did this some years back and the interest that I paid was negligible. I would think that this was a more sensible option than cancelling the agreement within the cooling off period as I would have thought that there’s more of a risk that you could lose the £2k that way. I have done several early terminations with different manufacturers (including VW) and never had any penalty charges and always retained the entire discount.
