Wipers

Post by Sod79 » Sun Dec 08, 2019 10:53 am

Had my new Tiguan since July and in recent weeks noticed both the front and rear wipers sticking to the glass/dragging/making unhealthy sounds. I guess the new glass and wiper honeymoon period is over. Note that it was coated by a detailer prior to pick up.

Anyone recommend a decent windscreen cleaner with good rain repellent features? Also any tips to keep wiper rubber slippery - please don't say vinegar as I've tried it and it works for about 3/wipes! :D

Have a read of this thread, the general consensus is that the OEM wipers are not good and most have replaced them with the excellent Bosch Aerotwins........

Just been out and measured my blades and they are 25" and 22" respectively from end to end

Have VW put the wrong size on mine?

I’ve just changed mine after 8 months as the OEM ones are pretty poor.

Bought some Bosch aero twins from eBay for £20 the pair

Can anyone tell me how to lift the front windscreen wipers off the car? I try to move them away in the low position but the bonnet appears to be blocking me doing it?

I'm sure there's a simple technique I am missing......
