Just tried the TomTom Go Navigation, links up to CarPlay and is not that costly. I had tried the POI update but could not get it to work. It is a pity this is facing such objection as its nice to be warned when you are slipping just above the limits. The Car is so smooth its easy to do.

The onboard speed limiter is your friend.

I've installed POI to the standard navigation which gives audible warning of safety cameras its worth installing.
Link was on this site some time back.

I stated above that it’s a shame it didn’t work with CarPlay. As you’re not getting it on the infotainment screen from your Samsung then it’s obviously not compatible with Android Auto either. Not all apps can be used via the infotainment screen. They have to be CarPlay or Android Auto compatible. Waze is and so is Google maps.

Just found the speed warning on the infotainment unit, funny what you find when you read the manual 😁. I’ve set it to warn at 3mph above the limit. I find this really useful given most cameras allow 10% + 1mph here in NI. I let Tom Tom on the phone warn me about cameras though that’s largely redundant now.

Hi Dave - I'll be interested to see how long before you turn it off again! ;)

I managed around a month before getting fed up because of two things -
nagging me for speeding when I wasn't because it had the wrong speed limit (60mph on many 70 stretches of dual carriageways etc) :?
and treating the first advance countdown speed limit approach sign as the start of the actual speed limit.

In my town it will sometimes indicate 100 km/h on a 50 km/h mid-town road... The scripts responsible for this are really primitive. It should “know“ that it’s virtually impossible to have this high speed limit in strictly urban traffic.

Another wonder of the utter garbage VW maps with incorrect limit that is not their problem. unforgivable in this digital day and age.

Looking forward to testing this on the dual carriageway extension to the M22 here, be interesting to see does the camera realise this.
