Yes, I have that too. MY 2019, 7k miles mileage. Been doing that always, but it happens 100% of time when I shift from R to D. Never happens in R. What helps is holding the accelerator pedal a little longer or tapping it lightly and then pressing it normally to move smoothly. It's AH-related. I've heard from people on Polish forums also experiencing this issue. I guess it's related to miscalibration of the AH system or just faulty design? I'm not sure why some people experience it and some don't.

I will be mentioning this to the dealer again (did mention this in the past) on the occasion of the upcoming tyre swap. My DSG also tends to shift (mostly downshift) in a very jerky manner when in sports mode, which I presume is abnormal behaviour.

Had this problem in a previous iteration of the DSG box on my Audi S4 Avant. Sometimes there was a jolt when going from park to reverse and other times it would struggle reversing up the drive (slight incline), but not every time. Having said that it was one of the first version of the box with a known fault and it was revised a couple of years later.

That's what made me chop it in for a brand new Tiguan, couldn't stomach the several thousand pounds on a new mechatronics unit and then feel obliged to keep the car.

Just got back from the VW garage in Liverpool, they’ve said it’s a mechatronics problem and are going to replace the whole DSG gearbox.

They need the car for a week and have ordered the parts today, haven’t a clue how much that would cost a normal customer luckily only had it for 2 weeks!

Ouch, at least the issue has been identified and they'll rectify it.
Keep us posted, especially if you get a stonking courtesy car :)

I will do 👍🏻

Glad it’s been spotted and wasn’t just me! They’ve got to get me a courtesy car for a week they said and parts could take 21 days to come in from Germany.

I’ll end up with a polo or something 😂

SHame :)
My Neice had to have her Kia Rio in for some work, they didn't' have a spare courtesy car so took one off the forecourt and gave her a Proceed GT.
Once she stopped freaking out about the auto 'box on it (she's only ever driver manuals) she loves it.
It's nice when it happens, but never happened to me

Bizarre that I mentioned the mechatronics in the post before!

Ball park figure of what it would have cost, for my 2010 Audi S4 it would have been between £3k and £5k, as you're having a new box, double it!

Yes it was bizarre you mentioned that!

Something they can’t fix and need to replace the lot apparently!

Should I be more concerned that a gear box has gone wrong on a car that’s done less than 15k miles?

Mechatronics unit can be replaced separately by a specialist, but as you're not paying, who cares!

As Russboy says the mechatronics unit can be replaced separately but perhaps they think some damage may have occurred inside the gearbox as a result of the mechatronics unit malfunctioning.
At least they are replacing it with no fuss.
