...and if you are really unlucky, it will look like this. Taken from a dodgy repair from one of the oz forums.

Whichever dealer it was, they have made an absolute meal out of it...

It makes the above photo in the thread mentioned looked quite professional.

So they are just drilling through and into the metal boot lid, I wonder what guarantee of rust and any other defeats caused by this work VW is offering for this sort of retro fit work.

If the problem is with the tape used to bond the rear spoiler to the car at a certain time in production you would expect VW to send the dealers the tape and get them to remove the old tape and fit the tape that works not drill two Torx bolts through, its a bit of a lets bodge this to resolve the issue.

On the other hand if you did not know the work had been done then you perhaps would not see it anyway.
