Carwow ID4 review
Nothing here to tempt me to stay with VW when I change the Tiguan in a couple of years time. Is this really the best they can do?

Re: Carwow ID4 review
Indeed. Watched it yesterday and thoroughly underwhelmed. Less stylish than the Peugeot he mentioned. Black plastic everywhere and dull front and rear ends. Some poor design decisions there.

Far better styling on the Skoda Enyaq in essentially the same vehicle
Though if looks are to go by and I still am unconvinced about going full electric, a PHEV version of this is now available

I agree the Enyaq looks better, but I still think the front end is pretty ugly. That front grill!
Although it's getting on now, the Jaguar iPace still looks fantastic, in my opinion. Then you have something like the design language of the Polestar and you start to realise how much of a missed opportunity the ID series is at the moment.

Re: Carwow ID4 review
I agree - I’m pretty unimpressed and uninspired by the ID4 which is a shame.
The Audi Q4 e-tron looks to be miles ahead of this on quality, not to mention having a proper virtual cockpit and actual buttons for the climate control.
Or the Skoda Enyaq is likely to be cheaper and looks nicer inside and out.
I think what’s most disappointing is that it’s clearly been a victim of cost cutting and poor design choices, resulting in the scratchy plastics; too much functionality thrown into the touch screen and things that don’t work properly like the voice control.
It kind of feels like VW have lost their way with this car and maybe a second gen id3 and id4 will be really exciting cars, but I find myself increasingly thinking of looking elsewhere when my Tig PCP is up.
Which is a shame because the Tiguan has been great - honestly the same car as my R-Line Tech with an electric motor would be a no brainier.

I watched 15mins and found it so underwhelming I did not bother watching the rest.
There is zero benefit being an early adopter here. Mk2's of these things will be significantly better, meaning that the residual values will be terrible on these as they age...on top of the high initial price point.
No thanks.

Plus, I see no great rush for ‘fully’ electric cars in this country until the authorities ‘extract their digits’ and provide an infrastructure to support them properly.
