I tend to notice it most on one particular junction. The out going Q5 never ever span getting out into the fast moving traffic. Agreed its normally brief as I assume the electronics then send the power backwards.

Common factor here seems to be the Scorpion tyres.
I don't think its anything to do with the tyres as I have a 2wd with Pirelli tyres and don't have a problem, it's a simple matter of driving to the road conditions.

Didn't the out going Q5 have 'true' Quattro, if so this was permanent 4wd. I thought the new Q5 uses basically the 4Motion system but Audi still call it Quattro which explains the difference.

I lined up against the Golf PP we own to see how quick the Tiguan was against it and using launch control got very little if any wheel spin from memory but I haven't repeated the exercise. The Haldex system in the Mk1 Tiguan would fail and not provide drive to the rear so a bit of investigation might be a good idea. When it failed the car drove normally for all intents and purposes using the front wheels only.

Same, a bit of a heavy foot and 90 degree junction and the fronts spin up then the rear kicks in. On factory fit Hankook. I'd noticed that setting in Carista as well and wondered if anyone had tried it! Seems a few of the Golf R boys have, most saying it feels much more planted and 4x4, however it does lower mpg.

I get the same, and that's even in my 150 1.4Tsi with Pirelli scorpions.

Mine would 'chirp' the front wheel when pulling out and turning the steering wheel. I believe this is normal before the system sense slip and trigger the haldex to transfer power to the rear wheels. I'm paranoid as I had haldex failure in another MQB car recently (Audi S3 with exact same system) but that had persistent wheelspin.

Mine hasn't spun at all after 7000 miles.

I must try harder 😆

Must admit on the few short journeys I've covered since posting this it hasn't happened.

Maybe it is just on full lock at damp junctions.
