Add me to the list. Because my drive is qiuite steep I park sideways on to the house and always reverse in, therefore the nearside of the car is lower than the offside.
Last night, after having not used the car for three days I saw that the front passenger footwell carpet was saturated ( see photo ) and there was water droplets on the passenger visor, no other area appears to be effected.
I had the sunroof modification carried out a few weeks ago, prior to that no problems.
Like Tiggy I have booked my car in to Listers in Worcester so hopefully will get a similar positive experience.

It’s quite concerning to read about this problem. I had this really bad on my Mark IV Golf and you would’ve thought VW would know by now what causes this. Costs a fortune to sort out if not under warranty.

Have now got my car back with the dealers having fitted new carpets, the problem was blocked drainage channels from the sunroof so hopefully all now sorted , didn’t get an opportunity to have a courtesy car as apparently they needed 10 days notice, pity as I would have liked the chance to try out a T Roc with a view to replacing my wife’s Hyundai., otherwise no complaints about my dealer experience.

As this is a known issue for some time I wonder if they have done any remedial work on the new built Tiguan to stop this issue.

The drains from the roof should be a service check for blockage and it is for some manufacturers I am told. If it isn't for VW I would be making a point of it and want proof it was looked during each service. It is a fairly simple exercise for them to do using compressed air to clear any debris in there. I wouldn't have a sunroof for a bet and this is one of the reasons.

Does anybody know where the drains exit?

The mk4 Golf was well known for the rubber exit points for the sunrooof drains (near the front door hinges) to become stuck closed, allowing the water to back fill and then spill out into the car. A squeeze to release then every so often was required. Speaking from experience of flooded car.

Is it the hose that blocks or the drain hole?

If it is the hose why do they just not fir a larger diameter hose.
