Side Scan vs Emergency Assist

Another part of the Side Scan functionality according to the Tiguan brochure:

"The parking assistant monitors the area behind and next to your vehicle, alerting you if it detects a vehicle or object, and automatically instigating an emergency stop if a collision is imminent. Not in conjunction with Emergency Assist."

Does the Emergency Assist have this too?

That's good to hear, i presume then that the info is correct and the VW UK website for Tiguan configuration has not been updated yet to reflect that these items are included in the Emergency Assist when you click on the "I" fro information.

It seems that way. The literature and website are very contradictory so it's no wonder the dealers don't really know what's what.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the options are the same on the Allspace as the standard Tiguan now!

So, yes. it includes Side Scan (and other things)

correct mine does that. its great with the ACC it stop the car, I then just press resume and the ACC starts up again.

Buyers of Allspace confirm first, I had a lengthy chat with VW and they say that the visual warning lights in the mirror is only side scan not with emergency assist. What I saw in the two pricelist seems to suggest if you buy a normal Tiguan, and select the emergency assist pack then you get a additional feature called "assist plus" and this has the visual warning lights in the mirror. However, on the allspace price list this feature is not part of the emergency assist option. So it seems only the Tiguan has this complete safety feature not the Allspace Tiguan.

Maybe someone who ordered a r line allspace tech and had emergency assist selected as an option instead of side scan can confirm if this is the case?

Emergancy assist also includes traffic jam assist which should mean lane guidance works all the way to zero speed

I emailed VW customer services for clarity on this and whether Side Scan is included in Emergency Assist like the new price list suggests...over a week now and still no reply!!

I have had a reply from VW

After liaising with our Product Marketing team I have been advised that

Side Scan includes:
Side Assist Plus including Lane Assist
Rear Traffic Alert

Emergency assist - (DSG only) includes:
Emergency assist
Traffic Jam assist
Rear traffic alert
Side Assist plus including Lane assist

Hang on! I thought Traffic Jam was part of Active Cruise Control coupled with Lane assist? Does that mean tat I will NOT be getting TJA with my R-Line Tech due to be built on w/b Mon 17 June?

Here is proof from the two pricelist that shows Emergency Assist on the Tiguan is more feature packed and is not similar on Tiguan Allspace. Think I will stick with Side Scan on my Allspace order.

Omg!i would have opted for emergency assist instead of side scan option had this literature been available at the time of order!
