Poor paint work from dealership.

Post by Shadow19 » Sat Mar 16, 2019 4:20 pm

Got my R line Tech on Wednesday and I was shocked to find the paintwork in such a poor state. Covered in swerl marks and even a few light scratches! I know it’s not a super fancy car but I personally expect a good finish from new. Ile be the one adding the swearl and scratches myself

Took it to a local deatler this weekend to have a polish and ceramic coating applied. Anyone elce had such bad paint / finish on a new car?

When mine arrives at the dealers, i've asked them not to touch the bodywork and leave the transport protection on it. It's then going to a car detailers for two days for a proper paintwork protection coating. Beats a rushed valet any day.

Aah the “ looks great when clean, but a bugger to keep it clean deep black pearl” ;) Collected my black golf from the dealers with 2 big scratches on the boot  .The guilty valeter decided to polish out the scratches and leave countless holograms in their place   End result, boot re- spray on new car!!!. Fortunately our new Tiguan was delivered in vgc, same dealer different valeter. :D

Mine was in a similar state Shadow, but not quite as bad as yours looks. My dealer admitted it was a bit rubbish and so after some back and forth, I got a £300 refund.

Thats not good and shouldn't happen. Its poor washing technique.

Any chance of saying who the dealer is as I'm picking mine up in a week or so and if its the same dealer I'll be asking them to leave the plastic on.

PM me if its easier

It doesn't matter which dealer they all will be using the same slap dash routing, tell them not to wash it at all !

Lspacej good idea I’m going to email listers tomorrow and see what they say-won’t good my breath tho. Spoke to the detailer again and he said it’s the worse he have seen on a new car. Definitely will not be asking them to wash at a service etc I’d rather do it myself.
