Re: 1.4tsi vs 1.5tsi
Absolutely love the pics!!
I think we can agree, the r-line is striking...especially with the running boards.
Thanks again for the input, what kind of mpg are you guys getting from the 1.5tsi?
Around town and on a run?
Oh russboy, if you don’t mind sharing, how much did you pay for the running boards? And we’re they easy to fit?

Re: 1.4tsi vs 1.5tsi
I can't comment on the mpg as i've got the 2.0 230ps.
Running boards I paid .............. £150, new and boxed
Very easy to fit, although I was expecting threads to be there to screw into, there aren't you slot in large rectangular nuts into holes in the chassis, can be a bit of an art then catching the thread. Would recommend having a telescopic magnet to hand, makes it easier to line them up. Also removing the underbody trim is easy apart from one screw, left mine in and cut around it.
Others have said they didn't need to jack the car up, but I did drive the front of mine onto ramps to make it easier for access.

Wow, that’s a great deal on the boards! How did you manage that?

Re: 1.4tsi vs 1.5tsi
Thanks again for the help and pics.
Happy to report we’ve ordered a white 1.5tsi r-line with running boards.
Dealt with Ben Steel at VW Chester who has been a pleasure to deal with and amazingly he beat drive the deal.
£27505 for the tig
£564 fitted boards
£199 for 2 service plan
Anticipated delivery for late sept/early oct.
Interestingly, they had a couple of black for the same price (free metallic) for delivery Aug/Sept.
All in all I’m happy and strangely I’m wishing the summer away!
