I noted this several years ago on the speedo (traditional) in the UP! The numbers are even speed numbers and just a mark for the odds. Maybe the designers think the UK speed limits are like Europe, 60, 80 100 kmph?
In fairness, there are plenty of UK roads that have a 60 or 40 mph limit. 60 is the national speed limit on a single carriageway road. Even 20 is increasingly common in built up areas, near schools and so on.

I have the new AID and it’s clear enough to me.

Besides, your exact speed is always displayed as a number just beneath the speedo dial so you can easily tell at a glance how fast you’re going.

You can also have the number in the middle of the dial. The centre of each dial is customisable so you can display all kind and of data like range, economy, navigation direction, radio station or music track.

I have mine set up with navigation direction in the left dial (the Rev counter), sat nav map in the centre and range on the right. The gear always appears under the left dial and speed under the right.

I think it works pretty well.

The only big omission is the time of day! That only appears on the centre screen.

Out of interest, what happens when you drive in metric Europe? On my analogue speedometer I have the speeds also marked in km/h inside the mph dial, and I can change the speed units to km/h on the car settings. But the new speedometer doesn't have any km/h figures. So would it change the dial into km/h via the car settings??

Yes, exactly this. There’s some setting in the menu to change the units to km instead of miles.

If you have the LED headlights you can also change them between left or right hand drive as required. No need for those sticker deflectors!

@KBEE,
Is that only the digital speed reading at the base of the speedo or the entire dial readings?
My B-Xenons can also be put on a travel setting to avoid having to stick bits of plastic on the front of the headlights. One of the better ideas (and copying what I could do on my 1980's Citroens by rotating the bulb in the headlight housing!)

That's something I'll have to remember when my Tiguan arrives. I currently have an Ateca with LED headlights and there's no option to change when abroad. It specifically calls out in the manual there's no change required as the headlights are suitable for use in mainland Europe with no changes or stickers required. Changes only needed if the vehicle is permanently exported.

It’s the whole dial. It also applies to the sat nav - we used the maps a lot on our holiday driving in france this summer and it worked really well.

The only real complaint was the French pronunciation from the sat Nav directions was really awful. I can only assume they have different voice for the French market!!

Does anyone know if there is a menu setting for the alarm when you forget to switch your car off with the new MY20 model?

The car is push button start, in the last model when you stop and the car shuts off, if you forget to press the off button and open the door the car bleeps to remind you to turn it off. This new model doesn't do this?
Is there a setting to turn it on?

OK! That sounds really good :)

And my satnav has some funny ways of pronouncing place names too... both in the UK and France. And probably the ones in Netherlands, Germany and Austria too when I drove through last year but I didn't know any better anyway :)

I really liked the traffic announcements in Austria, they even warned you when a car was found travelling on the wrong side of the road!
