I don't know the answer but what makes you think they are different from one another? There are two types of LED and a single Halogen, the basic LED which has a lower light output and has no active control possibilities, the mid version LED can utilise active light shading (DLA) or automatic dipping (HBA) from low to high and vice versa and which people often mix up and also has a higher light output. The DLA & HBA are commonly not activated for some countries but can be coded with VCDS. As the UK gets DLA I doubt the European version is any different.

DLA was one reason why I bought a SEL, I've found dipped beam on some cars to be too low so find the automatic blanking out of the main beam over 40mph works very well.

Nothing. The UK is Europe - or did I miss something............

I fail to understand why so many people on this forum fail to understand the UK is part of Europe and always will be.

There are differences between LHD and RHD cars, the steering wheel to start with :-) that aside, different countries do get different models and levels of trim. Even Ireland which is RHD get different specs to UK. Sweden get different models to Germany. So no, there is no one specific European specification.

Australia for instance gets the MID LED light but there is no HBA or DLA except on the Allspace which has DLA and is built in the US or is it Mexico. But the way VW Oz does things that could have changed by now.

Being part of Europe has nothing to do with country specific cars, as mentioned many European countries have cars that are only available in that country,

I think Germany got the R Line black edition and the U.K. did not,

I think everyone has totally missed the point I was making which was the UK is in Europe so we all drive European Tiguans already (albeit in differing configurations).

Someone else recently posted they will regularly drive to Europe but they already live in the UK so they are already in Europe.

Many people fail to understand basic geography which was the point I was trying to make. A bit like you saying you are thinking of driving out of Sussex and in to the UK (if you see what I mean).

Maybe they would have been better saying they were driving to ‘mainland’ Europe.
A bit like the Isle of Wight being part of the UK, but not mainland UK. ;)

Being a frequent traveller I'm a bit anal as you can easily get caught out if you don't know your geography. Last week I drove in Croatia from Dubrovnik to Pula. However, mainland Croatia is split by Bosnia and Herzegovina which is not part of the EU, hence in a UK registered vehicle you are not covered by your insurance for the 8 or so miles you drive outside of the EU and most insurance companies will decline to insure you. The local police know it and are highly likely to stop any UK registered vehicle to check for insurance. I hired a car in Croatia which can be driven through the borders without a problem.
I also go to the Isle of Man quite a bit, which is not part of the UK or a member of the EU, yet UK insurance covers you.

Apologies to the OP, we seem to have drifted off topic somewhat.
