Dangerous ACC setting speed to KPH when in MPH

38K views 98 replies 32 participants last post by  Tricky
We had this issue just last Sunday - went onto a 60mph B-road after leaving a 50mph section/roundabout and the symbol flashed up for 90 and the car speeded up - Location

Wife took a picture as I was driving...the area definitely is 60mph (although other sections further up are 50mph and 30mph)

There's not even an error with the map data provider (HERE) as they have it down as 60mph also

The two TPIs (Technical Product Information memos) that people need to bring to service departments attention are as below.

They can then check that your VIN is affected and that any symptoms you describe are eligible for the fixes and recall

Number 2063320 for the ACC mph/kmh issues, which is the software upgrade to the latest versions as shown below.

Number 2064212 for the '91CL service campaign' for SOS/OCU (online connectivity unit) firmware update - this is what is called a Field Service Measure, a recall that takes place whenever an affected car is in the workshop

Mine has had 2 small OTA updates recently, prior to going in for service and recall/fixes - both installed OTA in under 1 minute.

It was also on map version 21.5 (2021, May) before the service, and within a couple of days, it had downloaded OTA the very latest map version 21.8 (2021, August)

Radio version also changed from 1.30.16 to 1.30.24 as a result of the firmware update, but haven't seen any obvious changes with that

Not good - be firm with them and persist

Print off that TPI I put on the earlier page that relates to the 0278 software version update for resolution of the ACC/mph/kmh issues and show them.

Mine had a service, the software update, the SOS software recall and another unrelated fault all fixed in one day, one visit, and that was with the garage not even starting it till after 11am, so it seems like a competent technician can do it seamlessly.
