Made a big investment on a new Tiguan R. 20k miles.
checked with the dealer and the 20k service was not done, thankfully picked this up before was took late
and got the garage to carry this out. Saving. £800+ scary

Questions (again sorry for all the questions)

- what does this mean on the service book - Repair Event. 30/11/2017 <<< worrying?
- Anyone have a details list of the service intervals for a 2017 2.0 diesel?
- Whats the easiest way to track down previous owner......info :/

Hi johnytro and welcome to Tiguan land.

A repair event could be anything that was repaired by the dealer.

Make sure it has had the sunroof recall done which is a free fix https://www.tiguanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5006

The 20k service shouldn't be anywhere near £800, a major service is listed at £354. You can see pricing and what is included here https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/pricing

Is yours set to annual or flexible servicing?

You cannot trace the previous owner due to GDPR regulations, very different to how things used to be where the previous owner was on the V5 document.

As CNC stated, check the sunroof recall has been done - link of all recalls for 2017 onwards below
https://www.check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk/recall-type/vehicle/make/VW/model/TIGUAN/year/2017/recalls

Major service includes pollen filter - they are trying it on

"Oil & filter change. Replace pollen filter. Replace air filter. Spark plugs (petrol engine) or fuel filter (diesel engine) if required. Remove wheels and check brakes. Check/adjust tension of all drive belts. Check gearbox oil level. Check final drive oil level. Vehicle inspection and report to include all lights, instruments, bodywork, glass, locks, battery, coolant levels, drive belts, braking system, steering, hoses, drive shafts, suspension and exhaust system. Full vehicle road test. Diagnostic check including report. Re-set service interval display. Volkswagen stamp in service book."

Roof Service - what is this? I would suggest its a bit of greasing / lubrication and a check to ensure drainage of water as the roofs are prone to this

The brake service normally has a recommendation of change at 2 years
Haldex unit has a recommendation of three years and although not mentioned, the DSG should be done at 40000miles (if aplicable)

Have you tried an independent garage which deals with VW vehicles?
As long as the car is serviced iaw VW recommendations, any warranty should not be affected.

Summary.....just put a deposit down on the new Tiguan. Sold with FSH. It's a diesel with 21k

Called local vw who check the computer and could see the 3 year 20k service was hit in system, called garage and said yooo sort it. So they have just booked it in for to get it all done free.

The list above was from vw and items that were recommend. At 3 year or 20k

Sunroof service is a must dealer said. They get all sticky and if the drain holes get filled it will wet all the interior. Common the local dealer said so they added it to the service schedules

Quite a few problems have been mentioned about the panoramic roof leaking, make sure they clean the drain holes and test all four drain pipes are not blocked https://www.tiguanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4413
